Frequently Asked Questions
If you’re planning to visiting Pinecrest for the first time (and we certainly hope you do), you probably have a few questions about where to go and what to expect when you get here. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible so that you can focus on being in God’s Presence with His people.
Here are a few things you might be curious about…
When Should I Get There?
Our regular Sunday service starts at 10:00 am.
We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early so that you can visit our Welcome Center and get your bearings before service begins. If you have children to check-in you may want to arrive 20-30 minutes before service starts to get them checked in and settled.
Where Should I Park?
Of course, you can park anywhere in the parking lot you’d like (even in the grass field if you want), but we have specially marked Guest Parking spots closer to the building just for you!
How Should I Dress?
Pinecrest is a casual environment, so please feel free to come as you are. Our pastor, staff and volunteers usually wear jeans and a nice shirt but you’ll see a little bit of everything here, reflecting our diverse culture (from suburban to rural Colorado).
No matter what you wear, we’ll welcome you and invite you to encounter God and meet some new people. Don’t worry about “looking right”.
Where Do I Go First?
When you walk into the lobby, the first thing you should see is our Welcome Center (front and center of the lobby).
We suggest you start there as these men and women will be able to welcome you, get your children checked into class, point you to the coffee and restrooms, answer any questions you may have, and then help you find a place to sit in the Worship Center.
While you’re there, we’d love for you to fill out a Connection Card so that we can learn more about you and contact you with more information about the church. And to say thank you, we’ll make a $5 donation on your behalf to one of the mission organizations we support.
What's the Music Like?
Simply put, our music is contemporary but it’s not a “big show”. It tends to be a little more “low key” than you might see in some churches and more upbeat than others.
You’ll find a mix of older hymns, traditional choruses, and the latest inspirational worship songs.
And the best way to find out what a service is like (including the music) is to watch a past service on YouTube.
What About My Kids?
We have Children’s Ministry classes for all ages (nursery through 6th grade). You will need to check your kids into a class (either at the Welcome Center or via our Church App before you get here).
And of course, you’re more than welcome to bring your children with you into the service if that’s more comfortable for you. In fact, several times a year we have a Family Worship Service with adults and children worshiping together.
What About My Teenager(s)?
We don’t have a special Sunday morning service for teens as we believe they are the church of today, not the church of tomorrow. So, of course, they are more than welcome to join you in the service.
However, we do offer a Student Service on Wednesday nights (except over the summer) that includes dinner, worship, a message directed at their lives, and small group discussions.
Are You Going to Pressure Me to Give Money?
We give back to God a small portion of the blessings He pours out on us (including our skills, time, and finances).
This regular offering is an important part of our worship, but we want you to focus on encountering Jesus, meeting new people, and becoming everything God designed you to be…not worrying about if or how much to give.
So when the plate comes by, sit back and relax unless you feel compelled to give as an act of worship, not coercion or guilt.
What About After the Service?
We’d love to connect with you after the service and answer any questions you might have. In fact, we will ask that you fill out a little information so that we can contact you via email later in the week, but nobody is going to show up at your door. We want you to feel comfortable that this is the place for you before we take the next steps together.
When you’re ready, there are introductory courses where you can learn more about us and meet some of the staff and other church members. And when the time is right we encourage you to get connected in a Group as that’s one of the key ways we grow in our faith and encourage one another in Christ.
“The church doesn’t exist to serve it’s own purpose. We are on a mission for God to change and transform the world with the love of Jesus. The community we live in should notice that we’re here and miss us if we weren’t.”
– Pastor David, Lead Pastor

Meet Our Leadership Team
It’s important to know who the leadership of the church is.
After all, they’re the men and women providing the vision for ministry, teaching you and your family, and providing training for those involved in ministry. We want you to get to know our team personally, but you don’t have to wait to get started.
Meet our Leadership Team.
Ministries
Learn more about the various ministries of the church. Here are a few you might start with…
Groups
Pinecrest isn’t a church with a Small Group program; we’re a church of Groups that meet together once a week. That’s how important Groups are to us and your spiritual growth.
We don’t apologize for wanting everyone to find a Group that will help them grow spiritually.
Missions & Outreach
The primary directive for the church is to share the love of Jesus with everyone, everywhere.
We support and are involved in mission and outreach efforts locally and globally.
